OSCAR Come here!
It's finally here! In a few days I will be glorious in my sparkling new Lamboutin' s shoes! I'm sooo excited!
Oh right, we are not talking about me (stupid new generations)we are here because of my special column "Frogs and Popcorns" yeah yeah yeah... You know, Kermit suggested that I was self centered. Come on I'm Miss Piggy, if I don't admire myself, who will?
Anyway, today I will talk about someone else, he is very well known by the movie audience, his name is Oscar Gold (although it's more of Oscar britannia metal, but we'll get to that).
I must say the Muppets have experience with this award show but after 1985 I never thought we would be nominated again. Well, it's not like it's a big nomination or anything. Best song for "Men or Muppet"... I'm not even in it. But I'm happy for my friend Gary and... Walter. I can imagine it Mr. Pitt presenting my award for best actress. It won't happen this year, but maybe someday when we transform our selves into self-destructive robots, then they will think I deserve it! But if it weren't for Meryl Streep I would be in the Top 5 actresses this year! (Even my rounded nose is better then hers, which isn't even rounded). Plus I don't need glasses or a paper note, because I know exactly who to thank.
About best movie I have to say that HUGO is just cute! And "The Artist", That old hollywood glamour stuns me. (I was in the audition but they said I talked to much). :o
And OMG! I must say I have a huge crush on "Georgy" he is just charming! (Oh kermit if you're reading this... Just let your hair grow grey!)
Now, I said I would talk about Oscar Gold, and a pig always keeps her promise. Better I will not talk about him, but I will talk with him...
MP: How much gold do you really have in your system??
OG: 24-karat of gold.
MP: What' s your true dimensions??
OG: Height: 13½ inches Weight: 8½ pounds.
MP: Wow! How do you do it, I've been trying to lose a few pounds so tell me man. How are you so skinny??
OG: It's what I do you know... I'm a knight 24/7 and it actually makes you lose some weight, and on my part-time job (being a statue) I have to be exactly that especific dimension, because some people would not be able to lift me. For example if Rooney Mara wins this year, she wouldn't be strong enough to hold me if I was bigger. It's really the circumstances.
MP: Who makes you??
OG: Many people... My designer was Cedric Gibbons, chief art director at Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer, Sculptor was Los Angeles artist George Stanley, Manufacturer is R. S. Owens & Company in Chicago and it takes 3–4 weeks to make 50 of me.
MP: I heard Oscar was just a nickname.
OG: OH yeas, my real name is Academy Award® of Merit, but and Academy librarian Margaret Herrick said that I reminded her of her Uncle Oscar. The Academy didn’t adopt my nickname officially until 1939, but it was widely known enough by 1934 that Hollywood columnist Sidney Skolsky used it in a piece referring to Katharine Hepburn’s first Best Actress win.
MP: Last question... What are you formed with??
OG: I'm a knight holding a crusader’s sword, standing on a reel of film. The film reel features five spokes, signifying the five original branches of the Academy (actors, directors, producers, technicians and writers).
MP: Thank you so much Mr. Oscar. I'm really considering changing my profession.
OG: Oh, don't. I'm only worth 500$.
MP: Ok. Well, I'll be back in March, for my next subject. Vote for the theme I should talk about next month :)
